Stell dich kurz vor: Hi, ich bin Patti, 28, aus Berlin.
Du bist an sichtbaren Stellen tätowiert. Hast du nie Angst gehabt, dass dich das irgendwie einschränkt (Beruf usw). Wie ist deine Erfahrung? Denkst du dass es im grossen Ganzen lockerer geworden ist mit Tattoos am Arbeitsplatz, rsp. wie ist deine Meinung dazu?
Ich habe mir damals sehr viele Gedanken gemacht bevor ich mir Hände und Hals hab zutätowieren lassen. Ich arbeite im Finance/Legal Bereich und kann hier mit meinen Qualifikationen überzeugen, somit habe ich an sich keine Probleme durch meine Tattoos gehabt. Es gibt aber schon einige Berufe bei denen Tattoos eigentlich gar kein Problem sind, wie Friseur, Pfleger, Callcenter Jobs, Handwerker... Leider muss man sich bei Bürojobs schon durchsetzen und überzeugen können. aber ich glaube nicht dass jemand, der top qualifiziert ist wegen seiner Tattoos abgelehnt wird, jedenfalls ist mir das noch nicht passiert.
Du bist von Luxemburg nach Berlin gezogen. Inwiefern interessierst du dich noch für die Tattooszene hier in Lux und was hälst du davon?
An sich interessiere ich mich nicht großartig für die Tattooszene, höre bzw. sehe aber natürlich viel aus Luxemburg. Ich finde es sehr schade, in dem kleinen Land gibts sehr gute Tätowierer, auch im Umkreis, doch immer wieder sehe ich minderwertige Tattoos und kriege mit, dass immer mehr Tattoostudios eröffnen, in denen leider kein einziger guter Künstler zu finden ist.
Denkst du es ist schwieriger für eine Frau großflächig tätowiert zu sein als für einen Mann?
Nein, das denke ich nicht, ich denke es kommt eher auf die Qualität der Tattoos als auf den Träger an. Schlecht gemachte Tattoos sehen halt eher asozial aus und so denkt man dann wohl auch über den Träger.
Erzähl mir von deinem ersten Tattoo...
Das hab ich mir selber gestochen als ich 12 war, nicht zu empfehlen. Heute ist es gecovert, aber so dass ich es noch erkennen kann und somit immer noch an diese Dummheit erinnert werde.
Erzähl mir von deinem Lieblingstattoo...
Mein Lieblingstattoo ist ein ganz einfacher, kleiner Schriftzug am Handgelenk, den ich mir vor fast 10 Jahren habe machen lassen. Total unspektakulär aber es ist der Name von meinem Dobermann, der mittlerweile verstorben ist, und bedeutet mir sehr viel.
Du bist tätowiert, weil...
...weil ich bunte Haut schöner finde als "nackte" Haut, jedoch wirklich nur wenn die Tattoos gut gemacht sind.
Was hältst du vom aktuellen Tattootrend in den Medien ? Ich halte gar nichts davon, wenn ich sehe wieviele wieder mit den gleichen Motiven rumlaufen... peinlich, einfach nur peinlich. Von Individualität ist da nichts mehr zu sehen. Und wieviele sich nur tätowierern lassen weil es in den Medien als cool dargestellt wird oder irgendein Promi das Motiv hat. Ich glaube nicht dass die Träger mit solchen Motiven in ein paar Jahren noch glücklich damit sind, der beste Beweis hierfür war ja wohl das "Arschgeweih".
Was macht für dich einen guten Tätowierer aus? Hast du einen Lieblinstätowierer?
Man sollte immer zwischen Tätowierer und Künstler unterscheiden. Einer der was von seinem Beruf versteht, sagt auch mal nein, das ist so nicht möglich, das wird nicht gut aussehen oder das passt nicht zu dir und lehnt somit auch mal einen Kundenwunsch ab und verzichtet lieber auf die Bezahlung anstatt etwas zu machen was nicht seiner Ästhetik oder Moral entspricht. Er zeichnet individuell für dich und nimmt sich vor allem Zeit.
Lieblingstätowierer, schwierig aber ich würde sagen Lars Uwe, Lus Lips, er hat meine Hände tätowiert und ist ein unglaublich talentierter und interessanter Mensch.
Was würdest jemandem raten, der noch nicht tätowiert ist...
Bitte warte ab bis du wirklich ein Motiv für dich gefunden hast, nicht eins was an anderen gut aussieht oder nur weil du unbedingt tätowiert sein willst, das wird dich nicht allzu lange glücklich machen. Informiere dich genau über das Tattoostudio und richte dich nicht nach dem Preis.
Ich kann dich nicht gehen lassen, ohne dich über deine ausgefallene Tattoomotive auszufragen. Wie kommt man überhaupt auf eine solche Idee?
Das hat einfach nur mit meinem merkwürdigem Humor zu tun. Ich fand es einfach lustig sich ne Muschi tätowieren zu lassen, somit kam dann auch irgendwann das Schwanz/Blowjob Tattoo als Gegenbild zum Muschi Tattoo auf den Oberam. Die Muschi und der Schwanz auf meinen Füßen sind von Dan Sinnes, jeder der Dan kennt, weiss dass er gerne Shungas tätowiert und auch dafür bekannt ist. Und bis heute lache ich noch drüber!

Introduce yourself shortly: Hi, I'm Patti, 28, from Berlin.
You are tattooed on visible bodyparts. Were you ever worried, that it would somehow bring restrictions to you and your daily life, like in your job for instance. How is your experience? Do you think that tattoos became more accepted at work in general? What's your opinion?
I thought a lot about it before getting my hands and my neck tattooed. I work in finance/legal area and I can convince with my skills, so I didn't have any problems with my tattoos.
But there are quite a few professions where tattoos really are not a problem, such as hairdressing, caregivers, call center jobs, craftsmen... Unfortunately, you have to be able to prevail and convince when it comes to office jobs. But I don't think that someone who is qualified would be rejected because of his tattoos, at least it never happened to me, so far.
You moved from Luxembourg to Berlin. To what extent are you interested in the tattoo scene here in Luxembourg and what do you think of it?
Actually, I'm not particularly interested in the tattoo scene, but of course I still get to see and to hear a lot about the tattoo scene in Luxemburg. I think it's a pitty, in this small country and its surroundings, there are some very good artists, but unfortunaly you still see so many bad tattoos and I realize that there are more and more tattoo shops opening, with not even one talented tattoo artist working in it.
Do you think it is more difficult in everyday life to be heavily tattooed for a woman than for a man?
No, I don't think so, I think the quality of the tattoos is more important than the carrier himself. Poorly made tattoos look rather asocial and so you would probably think the same about the carrier.
Tell me about your first tattoo...
Well, I did it myself when I was 12, something I wouldn't recommend. Today it's covered, but in a way I can still recognize it and always be reminded of this stupidity.
Tell me about your favourite tattoo...
My favorite tattoo is a very simple, small lettering on the wrist, which I got almost 10 years ago. It's totaly unspectacular but it's the name of my Doberman, who is now deceased, and means a lot to me.
You are tattooed, because...
... because I think that coloured skin is so much more attractive than "naked" skin, but only if the tattoos are well done.
What do you think about the actual tattoo trend in the medias ?
Well... nothing good! When I see how many are running around with the same motives... I think it's embarrassing, just embarrassing. There is no more individuality in it at all. And how many get a tattoo only because the medias tell them how cool it is or some celebrity has that motive. I don't think that the carrier of such a motive will still be happy with it in a few years, the best evidence of this was surely the "tramp stamp".
What determines a good tattoo artist in your opinion? Do you have a favourite tattoo artist?
One should always distinguish between tattooists and artists. One who understands his profession will sometimes say no, that is not possible in such way, that will not look good or does not suit you and refuses therefore sometimes the customer's wish and prefers to forego the payment instead of making something that is not corresponding to his aesthetic or moral views. He will draw individually for you and most of all, will take his time for you.
A favourite tattoo artist, difficult but I would say Lars Uwe, Lus Lips, he tattooed my hands and is an incredibly talented and interesting person.
What would you advise someone who is not yet tattooed ?
Please wait up until you really have found a motive for yourself, not one that looks good on others or simply because you absolutely want to be tattooed. That won't make you happy for a long time. Get well informed about the tattoo studio and don't choose according to the price.
I can't let you go, without aksing you about your unusual tattoos. How did you get to such a crazy idea at all ?
Well, it simply has to do with my strange kind of humor. I found it funny to get a pussy tattooed, and then, at some point I got the tail/blowjob tattoo as a counterpart to the pussy tattoo on the arm.
The pussy and the cock on my feet are from Dan Sinnes, everyone knows the Dan knows that he likes to tattoo Shungas and is also known for it. And to this day I still laugh about it!
